The coldest air of the season will slam the Deep South over the next couple of days. The core of the cold will spread from the Plains southward and eastward, overspreading the entire region by Friday.

Temperatures will be in the 20s and 30s behind a cold front that will push through Texas Thursday night and the Southeast Friday. These temperatures will be 15-30 degrees below normal. Gusty winds will also make it feel even colder.

The coldest day will be Friday, as areas from Brownsville to Charlotte will be in the 30s. Dallas, Oklahoma City and Nashville will be frigid in the 20s.

In Florida, the coldest day could be Saturday, with temperatures in Tampa and Orlando only in the 40s.
