Cold Blast Adds to Dangers of Blizzard

A large arctic air mass is plunging southward from Canada in the wake of astorm. The cold air and furious winds will add to the dangers of the storm.Brutally cold air is spreading east from the northern Rockies today. Hightemperatures will only be in the single digits and teens across a good part ofcentral and eastern Montana and northwestern North Dakota. Overnight lows inthese areas will be subzero, and increasing winds will make this an even moredangerous situation.

AccuWeather.com RealFeel® temperatures will plummet below minus 30 degreesin some areas across the northern Rockies and the Plains overnight into earlyThursday.

The cold will expand farther south and east across the Front Range of theRockies and the northern and central Plains during the day Thursday as thestorm shifts eastward.
