The combination of strong, onshore winds, large waves and a full moon phasewill lead to some coastal flooding Wednesday through Thursday morning fromSouth Carolina to southeastern New England.A major storm tracking northeastward across the U.S. to the west of theAppalachians will be responsible for the nasty conditions along the coast. Thewinds will be fueled between that storm and a high off of the East coast.
Tides could run anywhere from 2-4 feet above normal during the period, whichwill lead to flooding in exposed, low-lying coastal areas.
The storm will track quickly, allowing winds to shift to an offshore directionby Thursday afternoon, which will allow flood waters to recede.
