A source has confirmed the Vikings' coaches are deciding right now whether to place backup middle linebacker Jasper Brinkley on season-ending injured reserve. It appears that's the way the team is leaning and an announcement is expected as early as Wednesday morning.
Brinkley went to see a hip specialist on Monday for an injury that coach Leslie Frazier said dates to the end of last season. Brinkley was supposed to challenge Erin Henderson for the starting weak-side linebacker position, but struggled before being sidelined for last week's third preseason game.
