Antiques market Bachman's will go vintage this week to host Gathering of Friends, a twice-yearly antiques market featuring 18 dealers at the flagship store on Lyndale.

Items for sale will include primitives, architectural pieces, pine and oak furniture, cottage decor, vintage wares, collectibles and pottery. Gathering of Friends will be at Bachman's Thursday through Sunday at 6010 Lyndale Av. S., Mpls.

Design your dream bath If there's a bathroom makeover on your wish list, you can get free design help at the Kohler Signature Store on Oct. 6. Kohler, First Supply plumbing and Midwest Home magazine are hosting a speed-design event from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Homeowners can bring in photos of their current bath and get a free 15-minute consultation. Those who choose to move forward after the consultation will receive 50 percent off design services. Appointments are encouraged. To register for a time, call 952-314-9032.

The design event is part of an open house at the Kohler store, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Refreshments will be served, and visitors can enter to win two $500 gift certificates. From noon-3 p.m., at 10-minute intervals, Jane Faiola from Cambria will offer a presentation on "Choose the Right Countertop for You." From 1-4 p.m., there will be demonstrations of the latest shower innovations from Kohler. The Kohler Signature Store is at 7101 France Av. S., in Edina.

Arhaus comes to town Home goods with a green and global accent will be on display when Arhaus opens its first store in Minnesota on Friday at the Galleria in Edina.

The retailer specializes in handcrafted furniture and accessories made by artisans from all over the world. Arhaus sources wood only from vendors practicing sustainability, and its artisans use many recycled materials.

The new store in the Galleria is a 15,000-square-foot space featuring lifestyle vignettes. The store opens at 10 a.m. Friday with gift bags for the first 500 customers. The Galleria is at 69th Street and France Avenue S. in Edina.
