A storm now appropriately centered over Alberta Canada will come scooting downacross the Upper Midwest, Great Lakes and Northeast Friday and Saturday. Thestorm lacks moisture and is incapable of producing really heavy snow. However,2 or 3 inches could fall along a band from northern Minnesota to southeasternNew York.The clipper will usher additional bitterly cold air into the United States thatwill produce temperatures as low as 35 below zero in northern Minnesota Sundayand Monday nights.
The cold air is going to clash with milder air through the Deep South whichwill put the wheels into motion for another major winter storm. The central andsouthern Plains will get it first with snow falling from Kansas and Oklahomainto Missouri and freezing rain reaching into Texas. This next major winterstorm will spread more snow into the eastern part of the country during themiddle of next week.
