ST. PAUL CHAMBER ORCHESTRA

Thursday-next Sunday: The St. Paul Chamber Orchestra's mini-festival of Beethoven's "heroic" period concludes next weekend with artistic partner Christian Zacharias conducting and performing as piano soloist in Beethoven's "Emperor" Concerto. As befits its moniker, Beethoven's final piano concerto is a majestic work, full of virtuosic opportunities for the soloist. Zacharias also leads the orchestra in performances of Haydn's Symphony No. 91 and Schoenberg's Second Chamber Symphony (7:30 p.m. Thu., Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 12650 Johnny Cake Ridge Rd., Apple Valley; 10:30 a.m. & 8 p.m. Fri., Wooddale Church, 6630 Shady Oak Rd., Eden Prairie; 3 p.m. next Sun., St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, 900 Stillwater Road, Mahtomedi. $12-$42. 651-291-1144, www.thespco.org.)
