CIVIL WAR GRAVES
Civil War researcher Ken Fliés has confirmed at least 18 of the roughly 800 Minnesota soldiers killed or fatally wounded in the Civil War had their bodies returned to Minnesota for burial. Chase will be given a new gravestone in May, Sampare received one in September and Acker and Oakes received recognition ceremonies. Others will be honored in future years.
