As Adele fans were saying the second time she canceled her First Ave show this summer: Well, that was quick.

The Adele-anchored "Sampler, Vol. 23" CDs from Cities 97 FM are already sold out, according to the radio station's staff. All 33,000 copies of the annual charity collection reportedly flew off the shelves at area Target stores by 11:15 a.m., just three hours after going on sale. That was an hour less than it took for them to vanish last year. The end result of this forever-high demand for these puppies is another payout of about $800,000 to Minnesota charities. Thank you, Cities staffers (and the artists, of course). Music publishing rules limit the number of charity CDs that can be manufactured in these cases.

Cities 97 will auction off five copies of the CDs to benefit five different charities starting today at 7 p.m. It will also play the CD in its entirety Saturday at 11 a.m.
