Choral confab to feature three days of concerts

The music involves a dozen choirs.

When choral directors from throughout the state get together, you know that concerts will occur. This year, the American Choral Directors Association of Minnesota (ACDA-MN) marks its 50th anniversary with three concerts Nov. 16-18 featuring a total of 12 Minnesota choirs, including professional and student groups.

A Minnesota Choral Mosiac: Cantus & VocalEssence Ensemble Singers, 8 p.m. Friday, November 16, Benson Great Hall, Bethel University, 3900 Bethel Drive, Arden Hills.

The Tribute Concert: ACDA-MN Anniversary Directors' Chorus, Concert Choir of the Angelica Cantanti Youth Choirs, Concert Choir of the Northfield Youth Choirs, Magnum Chorum, & The St. Olaf Choir, 8 p.m. Saturday, November 17, Benson Great Hall, Bethel University, 3900 Bethel Drive, Arden Hill.

A Golden Grand Finale: The Concordia Choir-Moorhead, ACDA-MN State 11-12 High School Honor Choir, Minnesota Boychoir, The Singers, & the University of Minnesota Singers, 4 p.m. Sunday, November 18, St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, 900 Stillwater Road, Mahtomedi. This concert will feature a world premiere of Minnesota composer, René Clausen's Concord Canticles, which will be performed by the combined choirs.
