The sixth season of Club Book will bring in nine writers (eight of them women) to suburban libraries between September and November.

7 p.m. Sept. 20: Cara Black will be at Ramsey County Library-Roseville, 2180 Hamline Av., Roseville. Black is the best-selling author of the Aimee Leduc private investigator series, set in Paris. Black's books have been published in eight languages and she is a two-time finalist for the Anthony Award. Her latest book is "Murder on the Quai."

7 p.m. Sept. 26: Duluth writer Lucie Amundsen will speak at 7 p.m. at the Anoka County Library-Rum River, 4201 Sixth Av, Anoka. Amundsen and her husband, Jason, run the Locally Laid Egg Company, and Amundsen's memoir of how they fell into the chicken-and-egg business (and which came first?), "Locally Laid," has been called both hilarious and eye-opening.

6:30 p.m. Sept 28: Charlotte Rogan, author of "The Lifeboat," will be at Carver County Library-Chanhassen, 7711 Kerber Blvd., Chanhassen. Rogan's novel, her first, takes place on the eve of World War I when an ocean liner mysteriously sinks and the survivors must make some quick decisions. Her new novel, "Now and Again," was published this year.

7 p.m. Oct. 12: Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni, author of "The Mistress of Spices" and "Oleander Girl," will be at Scott County Library, 16210 Eagle Creek Av. SE., Prior Lake. Divakaruni is a poet, playawright, and short-story author as well, and "Mistress of Spices" was adapted as a film.

7 p.m. Oct. 17: Historian Candice Millard, author of "The River of Doubt" and "Destiny of the Republic," will be at Hennepin County Library-Southdale, 7001 York Av. S., Edina. Millard's latest book is "Hero of the Empire," which recounts the story of Winston Churchill's capture and escape from a POW camp during the Boer Wars.

7 p.m. Oct. 18: Terry McMillan, author of "Waiting to Exhale" (made into a 1995 movie staring Whitney Houston and Angela Bassett), "How Stella Got Her Groove Back," and many other novels, will be at St. Paul Public LIbrary-Arlington Hills, 1200 Payne Av, St. Paul. McMillan's latest novel is "I Almost Forgot About You."

7 p.m. Oct. 25: Lily King, author of "Euphoria," will be at Stillwater Public Library, 224 Third St. N., Stillwater. "Euphoria" was named one of the best novels of 2014. King is also the author of "Father of the Rain," winner of the New England Book Award for fiction.

6:30 p.m. Nov. 2: Sy Montgomery, naturalist, author and documentarian, will be at Washington County Library, 8595 Central Park Place, Woodbury. Montgomery has written 10 books for adults and 10 for children, including "The Good Pig," and "The Soul of an Octopus," shortlisted for a National Book Award.

7 p.m. Nov. 14: Former MInneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak will speak at the Dakota County Library, Galaxie Library, 14955 Galaxie Av., Apple Valley. Rybak was mayor from 2002 to 2014 and currently serves as CEO of the Minneapolis Foundation. His memoir, "Pothole Confidential," recounts the defining events of the last decade, including the collapse of the Interstate 35 bridge, and the fight over marriage equality.
