WASHINGTON – The bill to rename the Chisholm Post Office in honor of late Minnesota Rep. Jim Oberstar has been signed into law.
The bill was supported by Democratic Senators Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken and Democratic Rep. Rick Nolan.
Oberstar served as the representative for Minnesota’s 8th district for 36 years from 1975-2011. He died in May 2014 at age 79.
Portions of Interstate 35 have also been named after Oberstar.
