A chiropractor who had sex with a prostitute at his Richfield clinic after closing time must retake an ethics class he failed, according to the state Board of Chiropractic Examiners.

The board reprimanded Scott Koltes after he admitted to having sex at the clinic twice in the spring of 2008. Richfield police investigated but no charges were filed. Koltes works at Back to Health Chiropractic. The board fined Koltes $1,500 and told him to take classes in "moral turpitude" and ethics. In the ethics class, Koltes focused on his BlackBerry and refused to admit wrongdoing. "Respondent felt himself to have been victimized by everyone, including his lawyer," the order stated. If he passes the ethics class and a recordkeeping class, he can seek an unconditional license in a year. Read the board's recent disciplinary action here. Read an earlier order that places Koltes on probation.
