Vikings coach Brad Childress joined KFAN's Dan Barreiro in studio on Thursday and he addressed a number of topics, including Brett Favre of course. Here is a live blog:

Childress talked about visiting Favre in Mississippi and described it as a "good visit to see him in his environment."

"I don't know if he's going to play next year and I don't know if he knows if he's going to play next year," Childress said.

Asked for his gut feeling, Childress said, "It would not surprise me either way."

Childress said he's not worried about Favre's left ankle.

"Not based on what I saw," he said.

Childress said he believes Favre ultimatey will "do the right thing."

"I wouldn't want him in half-cocked to run down the road for a paycheck," Childress said. "That's not the way he's wired. You're not kind of pregnant. You're either all in or you're not all in. That's where the decision lies."

Childress was asked about a quote in a USA Today story in which Favre said the two had some "rocky times" last season.

"I'd say probably right on," Childress said. "Was it rocky at times? I certainly knew of his skill set but I didn't know the man probably as well as I could have known the man. He's a strong-willed guy, I'm a strong-willed guy. But once again, one lap around the track I know what I know about him now."

-- Childress also addressed Adrian Peterson's absence from minicamp and their discussions in the wake of Childress making his frustration public. Childress said he and Peterson had a good talk about the situation and have put the situation behind them.

"You let bygones be bygones," Childress said. "I know how he feels and he knows how I feel. You keep moving."

When pressed by Barreiro on Peterson's reason for missing camp: "You know we want to go forward. That's in the past. That's water under the bridge. It's resolved. ... I don't hold grudges."

Childress also talked about Peterson's fumbles and whether he has taken the necessary steps this offseason to fix the problem.

"Adrian is such a prideful guy," Childress said. "He will do everything that he can to rectify that."

-- Childress was asked about the severity of Sidney Rice's hip injury.

"Will he be able to go full speed? We'll see here in about a week," Childress said.

-- Childress on high expectations after getting one game from the Super Bowl last season.

"I don't get into fair," he said. "I just know this. Nobody's expectations will be any bigger or brighter than myself or the coaches or the players. ... The goal is ultimately to win the Super Bowl, not just go to the Super Bowl."
