Holidays are all about making memories.
The adaptation of "A Christmas Story" now being performed at the Children's Theatre Company (CTC) provided an unforgettable afternoon for a sold-out audience last weekend. The show, which tells the story of a Midwestern family during the Great Depression, touches on a boy's yearning for a Red Ryder BB gun, how he deals with pink bunny pajamas and the allure of a leg lamp.
Kamille Shelton of Burnsville, 6, really loved "when Randy sticks his head in the oatmeal." It wasn't her first experience at the CTC in Minneapolis. "They do all kinds of plays: Some are funny, some are nice and some are creative," she said.
Luca Cervenka, age 7, found humor in the moment that Ralphie didn't shoot his eye out but thought that he had. "I liked when he pretended that an icicle broke his glasses," she said.
The afternoon was an experience she'd like to repeat. "I want to come back for 'Babe' and 'Annie,'" said Cervenka, referring to two upcoming productions. Sounds like a play date.
