An 18-month-old child who was at a chiropractic office in Shoreview with a parent Thursday somehow got caught in a piece of equipment and was fatally injured, authorities said.
Details about the incident were scarce, and the child's gender wasn't available, said Randy Gustafson, a spokesman for the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office.
The incident happened in the late afternoon or evening at First Chiropractic, in the Shoreview Village Mall, on Hwy. 96 near Lexington Avenue.
The child and mother were in a treatment room when the toddler suffered head injuries. The child was pronounced dead at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.
"It's just a tragic accident from the looks of it right now," Gustafson said.
