LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) — With only one defensive player chosen on the first two days of the NFL draft, the Chicago Bears could be looking to that side of the football in Saturday's final four rounds.
The Bears took West Virginia wide receiver Kevin White in the first round and Oregon center Hroniss Grasu in the third round Friday, the first time since 2008 they've selected two offensive players in the first two rounds. The only defensive player they picked was nose tackle Eddie Goldman from Florida State in the second round.
With picks in the fourth, fifth and sixth rounds, it's possible the Bears will look to trade down at some point to acquire extra selections considering the needs they have, particularly in rebuilding a defense that was 30th in the league two straight years.
Free agency brought the Bears several key defenders for their new 3-4 scheme, but there are holes still at end and linebacker, and they could also use a safety and a cornerback.
