Hopefully you were as fast as Denard Span when it came to picking up tickets to Target Field's inaugural concert with country superstars Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw on July 8. The Twins reported that all 40,000 or so tickets were sold out by about 3 p.m. today, five hours after they went on sale to the general public. Season ticketholders got first shot at seats a few days earlier.

Unlike this past summer's U2 concert at TCF Bank Stadium, which initially sold out in a couple hours, the Twins organization handled all the ticket sales in-house and did not use Ticketmaster -- which likely slowed sales somewhat. But not much, it seems. There was also a four-ticket limit per order.

Twins reps urged fans to check back as the concert nears, as more tickets may be added once the layout of the stage and seating areas becomes clear. Of course, there's always the resale market, too. More than 1,300 tickets for the show are already available on Stubhub, ranging in price from $87 up to over $500. If U2's stadium gig was any indicator, those prices should be much lower closer to the day of the concert.
