Every writer's dream! The actor needs your character to be the actor's idea of the character. That's why "Citizen Kane" works so poorly. The actor wanted Kane to be a romantic, sympathetic character, but the director wouldn't let him.
But not in the delusional sense where you think Cher is an immortal succubus who must be slain so that the spell is lifted from the kingdom. That is insane. Although you might buy the immortal part; here's a picture from the movie of the 64-year old entertainer.
