Ecopolitan is the Twin Cities' only 100 percent organic/vegan/raw/gluten-free restaurant, with a breakfast-lunch-dinner menu that emphasizes superior ingredients. The juice-smoothie bar is an exceptional example of the genre.

Chef Mike Rakun cooks with a light but expert touch at great-looking Mill Valley Kitchen, turning out spa-inspired food that doesn't taste as if it's counting calories. The menu includes handy nutritional information, too. Kids under age 12 eat free on Sunday after 4 p.m.

Brenda Langton has been beating the eating-healthy drum for nearly three decades, first at her Cafe Kardamena, then at Cafe Brenda and now at her stylish, near-the-Guthrie Spoonriver. The bar shows all kinds of cocktail-making talent, and weekend brunch is particularly enjoyable.
