Breaking Facebook news: The social media website's users love their Starbucks.

According to Mashable.com, the Seattle-based coffee chain is the No. 1 food/drink "check in" on Facebook's year-old Places feature, where users can log in and share their current whereabouts. Facebook tracked restaurant data, and while the company isn't releasing exact numbers, the site's top 10 most popular dining destinations are:

Starbucks, Buffalo Wild Wings, Chili's, Applebee's, McDonald's, IHOP, Denny's, Olive Garden, T.G.I. Friday's and The Cheesecake Factory.

Mashable.com points out that having what feels like a Starbucks on every corner certainly works in its favor; the company has 17,000-plus locations. Still, No. 2 Buffalo Wild Wings has 700 locations vs. No. 4 McDonald's 32,000 outlets, so go figure.

It makes a person (or at least this restaurant critic) wonder: What are the top Twin Cities "Places"? Or at least the ones that aren't national chains. Any thoughts? My guess is that (for the next 12 days, anyway) the massive outdoor food court that is the Minnesota State Fair will take the lead.
