Urging people to give cabernet franc a try is tough because finding one under $20 is challenging. And while $15 is not "entry level" for many consumers, the 2010 Writer's Block Lake County Cabernet Franc is way worth it. This California red combines Old World herbs and New World ripeness, with some dandy black-pepper flavors on the lengthy finish. Try it with anything grilled, pizza to chicken to zucchini. Available at Century, Little Wine Shoppe, Westwood, Wine Thief and Dolce Vita.
