Chaska motorcyclist dies in Carver County crash

October 25, 2014 at 2:46AM

A 27-year-old Chaska woman was killed Friday morning when the motorcycle she was driving collided with a car in Carver County.

The Sheriff's Office received a 911 call about 7:15 a.m. about the crash at County Road 40 and 152nd Street in Dahlgren Township, according to Sheriff Jim Olson.

When deputies arrived, they found rescue personnel and a passerby performing CPR on Jennifer Marie Compton, but she died at the scene, Olson said in a news release.

Compton was wearing a helmet and protective clothing.

She was driving south on County Road 40 when an eastbound vehicle entered the intersection at 152nd Street, the sheriff said. It appears that she tried to avoid hitting it but struck the left front of the vehicle.

The Carver County Sheriff's Office and Minnesota State Patrol are investigating.
