WHO NEEDS REST?

Six of the past nine Super Bowl champions have played on wild-card weekend.

Pittsburgh (2005 season): No. 6 seed's only close victory was vs. Colts in divisional round.

Indianapolis (2006): Peyton Manning (left) won his only title with the AFC's No. 3 seed.

N.Y. Giants (2007): No. 5 seed ended Patriots' undefeated bid with an epic late rally.

Green Bay (2010): Aaron Rodgers and Clay Matthews (right) won the title as a No. 6 seed.

N.Y. Giants (2011): Wins NFC East with 9-7 record, defeats New England in Super Bowl again.

Baltimore (2012): An epic double OT-victory at Denver and a victory at New England led Ray Lewis and Ed Reed (above) to the Super Bowl, where the Ravens beat San Francisco.
