Chart: Twins' deepening scoring futility

April 9, 2015 at 6:12AM

It's this bad …

• The Twins have not scored a run since Sept. 27, 2014, a stretch that spans 28 innings.

• The Twins have not advanced a runner past second base in 27 consecutive innings.

• The Twins are the first AL team to be shut out in its first two games since the 1977 Mariners (expansion team). Those Mariners finished 64-98.

• The Twins are eight innings away from tying the record for consecutive scoreless innings to open a season (26 innings, by the 1943 Cardinals).
