RISING ABOVE

Esko's Savanna Trapp, at 6-9, is believed to be the tallest girls' basketball player in state history. She has earned a full scholarship to UCLA, where she will replace 6-7 Sissy Pickett as the tallest player in that program's history.

The 18-year-old's height is so rare that if she played in the WNBA today, she would be the second-tallest women to ever play in the league.
