League year starts
Welcome to the 2015 NFL season! Yes, seriously. Tuesday is Day 1:
• Free agency officially begins at 3 p.m. Central. The agreements that have been reported can turn into actual contracts. Teams have been permitted to talk with unrestricted free agents since Saturday, and teams always are able to sign or extend their own players.
• Trades can happen again, too.
• Teams also must be salary cap-compliant by 3 p.m.
