Chart: Projecting the BCS bowl games

As November plays out in its wild way, we're getting a better look at how January might look in terms of the Bowl Championship Series:ROSE BOWL

Jan. 1, Pasadena, Calif.

Matchup: Big Ten champ vs. Pac-12 team or at-large

Projection: Nebraska vs. Stanford

Comment: Huskers need to beat Wisconsin, and Cardinal needs to beat UCLA for second week in a row.

ORANGE BOWL

Jan. 1, Miami

Matchup: ACC champ vs. BCS at-large

Projection: Florida State vs. Rutgers

Comment: Seminoles should hammer Georgia Tech in ACC title game. Scarlet Knights need to beat Louisville.

SUGAR BOWL

Jan. 2, New Orleans

Matchup: SEC at-large vs. BCS at-large

Projection: Florida vs. Oklahoma

Comment: Gators replace SEC champ and get automatic bid because they likely will be in the top four of BCS standings. Sooners edge out Clemson.

FIESTA BOWL

Jan. 3, Glendale, Ariz.

Matchup: Big 12 vs. BCS at-large

Projection: Kansas State vs. Oregon

Comment: Just eight short days ago, this looked like the national championship matchup. Now, it would merely be one of the best bowl pairings of the season.

BCS CHAMPIONSHIP

Jan. 7, Miami

Matchup: BCS No. 1 vs. BCS No. 2

Projection: Notre Dame vs. Alabama

Comment: Irish punched their ticket with a victory at USC. The Crimson Tide-Georgia matchup in the SEC title game likely serves as a national semifinal.
