Field (mis)adventures
The Twins’ defense — or lack thereof — was a significant contributor to Monday’s 12-3 loss to Kansas City:
• Oswaldo Arcia ran down a popup along the left-field line in the fourth inning but dropped the ball, resulting in a single for Kendrys Morales.
• Torii Hunter couldn’t reach Lorenzo Cain’s fly ball to the right field wall in the sixth inning. Hunter then made an errant throw to second, an error that allowed a run to score.
• Arcia failed to catch Eric Hosmer’s drive to the wall the next at-bat following Hunter’s misplay.
• Shortstop Danny Santana had a grounder bounce off his glove with the bases loaded in the eighth inning.
