Last winter a record five of the 16 teams in the tournament were coached by women. They were Tracy Cassano (Burnsville), Christina Hanson (Mounds View) and Melissa (Sailor) Volk (Andover) in Class 2A and Hannah Impola (Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato) and Kristin Faber (New Ulm) in Class 1A.
