Free-falling Wild
On Nov. 23, the Wild completed a stretch in which it went 9-1-1 to run its record to 15-5-4. But since then, coach Mike Yeo's team is 5-11-1 and lost its fifth consecutive game on Sunday. Some lowlights:
• The Wild has given up 24 goals in its five-game skid — 4.8 per game.
• The Wild scored a total of four goals in its three-game, pre-Christmas trip to the East Coast.
• On Friday at Winnipeg, the Wild scored three first-period goals only to lose 6-4.
• And on Sunday at home against a last-place Islanders team on the second night of a back-to-back, the Wild gave up a 3-0 lead and lost 5-4.
