league of their own?

Of the eight metro-area Catholic schools planning to discuss a new athletic conference, four are already in the throes of change.

St. Thomas Academy: Voted out of the Classic Suburban Conference starting with the 2014-15 school year, pending a change to procedural language in conference bylaws. Recently agreed to move up to Class 2A in boys' hockey after dominating in smaller-school Class 1A.

Totino-Grace, Benilde-St. Margaret's: Seeking a new conference after the North Suburban Conference announced it was dissolving after the 2013-14 school year. Seeking better competitive fits, the Totino-Grace football team competed in the Northwest Suburban last fall while Benilde-St. Margaret's boys' hockey played an independent schedule last season.

Holy Angels: Looking for a new home after several Missota Conference members announced plans to leave.
