Became the starter in the fourth game of his true freshman season. Big East rookie of the year in 2011. Led the Cardinals to the Big East title and was conference offensive player of the year as a sophomore in 2012, and was MVP as Louisville beat Florida 33-23 in the Sugar Bowl. Last year, as a junior, he threw 31 TD passes and only four interceptions.

In the draft

On New Year's Day, Bridgewater said he would skip his senior season to enter the draft. His draft status dropped after a sketchy pro day performance. He appeared to be falling out of the first round May 8 when the Vikings traded their second- and fourth-round selections to Seattle for the 32nd and final pick of the first round.
