School: After completing eighth grade at Capitol Hill Magnet School, Nelson has taken online classes for two years but is considering returning to a traditional classroom for the coming school year.

Recent results/upcoming tournaments: Nelson finished second to friend and rival Jessie Aney of Rochester in last month's U.S. Open Northern Qualifying Championships at the University of Minnesota. She is scheduled to play in the U.S. Tennis Association's national clay court championships July 10-19 and the USTA national hard court championships in August.
