July 13, 1965: NationaL LEAGUE 6, AMERICAN LEAGUE 5
Site: Metropolitan Stadium, Bloomington (attendance: 46,706)
MVP: Juan Marichal, San Francisco Giants. The NL starter pitched three shutout innings, allowing one hit.
Highlight: Willie Mays hit a leadoff homer and Joe Torre and Willie Stargell also homered in the first two innings as the National League took a 5-0 lead.
Remember this? Twins great Harmon Killebrew hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth inning to tie the score 5-5. Ron Santo's RBI single in the seventh drove home Mays with the winning run.
