NEXT OPPONENT:

SAN FRANCISCO

The 49ers, who lost the NFC Championship Game to the Giants in overtime in January, opened the season by beating the Packers in Green Bay last weekend.

49ERS WEEK 2

San Francisco 27, Detroit 19

The 49ers defense didn't allow a TD until the final 1:29, holding Matthew Stafford to 230 yards passing, and tight end Vernon Davis caught two TD passes in an efficient victory over the Lions.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR

Randy Moss, what else?

No matter what Randy Moss does, Vikings fans seem to have a soft spot in their hearts for him. After a season off, he's making a comeback with San Francisco as a reserve wideout.

OUTLOOK

San Francisco clearly has one of the most powerful, and best defensive, teams in the league. The Vikings will be hard pressed to move the ball offensively. Outlook: Horns down
