clean sweep

Team USA got a sorely needed medal boost by sweeping the podium in slopestyle skiing. The podium sweep was just the third for the U.S. in Winter Olympic history, joining men's figure skating in 1956 and men's halfpipe snowboarding in 2002.

Gold: Joss Christensen, 22, of Park City, Utah. Hadn't placed higher than sixth in the X Games yet was nearly flawless Thursday.

Silver: Gus Kenworthy, 22, of Telluride, Colo. Has a string of podium finishes in his career but wasn't exactly hot coming to Sochi.

Bronze: Nick Goepper, 19, of Lawrenceburg, Ind. Was the gold medal favorite coming in. His finals run wasn't quite clean enough.
