Three people have been charged in relation to a shootout in downtown Minneapolis early Saturday that injured two women, according to the Hennepin County attorney's office.
The women, who were in a third car that was not involved in the shooting, drove themselves to a hospital, where they were treated for minor gunshot wounds and released, authorities said.
Michael Rolack Jr., 33, of Minneapolis, was charged in Hennepin County District Court with second-degree assault, drive-by shooting, being a felon in possession of a firearm and theft. Tylynne L. Wilson, 31, of Minneapolis, was charged with theft, second-degree riot and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Loretha D. Peoples, 22, of Columbia Heights, was charged with second-degree riot.
The shootout between people in two vehicles broke out at 2:20 a.m. Saturday near 2nd Avenue N. and 4th Street, according to police. Witnesses gave a description of an SUV involved in the shooting, and police found it a short time later with Rolack, Peoples and Wilson inside.
The two women who were injured had been in a car nearby when the shooting started. The rear window of their car was shattered by gunfire, according to police.
