A St. Paul man is in custody, one of three adults charged in connection with a home-invasion robbery last month of a group home for vulnerable adults in Roseville.
Authorities say tips received after publication of surveillance images led to the identification of three suspects -- two of whom allegedly ransacked the home in the 2800 block of Lexington Avenue on Dec. 22.
One staff member reported being beaten over the head with a gun after he answered a knock on the door and found himself up against three males with black bandanas over their faces, authorities say.
The trio asked questions suggesting a familiarity with the home's operations, according to a criminal complaint filed Monday in Ramsey County District Court.
Two men, Jermain R. Beasley, 22, and De'Aries C. Collins, 18, both of St. Paul, are charged with first-degree aggravated robbery, and were identified in the complaint as two of the three alleged intruders.
The third male suspect is a juvenile who goes by the street name "Lee Blood," according to Beasley, who spoke with police twice while in custody, the charges say. Beasley said it was the juvenile who pistol-whipped the staff member.
A woman, Renesha I. Motten, 20, also has been charged with first-degree aggravated robbery in the case. The complaint quotes Beasley as saying that Motten knew the residence was a group home and that Motten and the juvenile collected most of the proceeds from the robbery.
Authorities have issued arrest warrants for Motten and Collins.
