The senior hit a bases-loaded single in the bottom of the seventh inning to score the winning run, giving No. 1 Chanhassen a 2-1 victory over No. 2 Prior Lake in the third round of the winners’ bracket in the Class 4A, Section 2 softball tournament on Tuesday.
Chanhassen (22-1) advances to Thursday’s championship.
Senior Marybeth Olson was stellar on the mound for the Storm. She only allowed four hits while striking out nine.
Prior Lake (20-3) tied it at 1-all in the fifth when senior Katie Sewart’s bloop single scored junior Jasmine Ziegler, who led off the inning with a single.
The Storm scored first on a Prior Lake error in the second inning.
In the third round of the losers’ bracket, junior Sydnee Wischmeier had a two-run single with one out in bottom of seventh to give Minnetonka a 5-4 victory over Shakopee.

Section 5/fourth round: Senior pitcher Halley Jones threw a no-hitter, keeping Spring Lake Park still alive with a 2-0 victory over Champlin Park in a losers’ bracket game.

Section 2/quarterfinals: Jimmy Ramsey continues his torrid senior season, delivering a two-strike, two-out RBI single to left field in the bottom of the seventh inning, giving No. 3 Minnetonka a 3-2 triumph over Chanhassen. Ramsey came into the game hitting .552 this spring.
Section 4/semifinals: Sophomore Will Frisch threw a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts as No. 1-rated Stillwater beat White Bear Lake 4-1.
