Changing role for White Bear's Jackson

No longer athletics director, Bob Jackson can still teach and coach football

April 24, 2010 at 6:03PM

White Bear Lake athletics director and football coach Bob Jackson is no longer the athletics director due to a district decision to change the position to activities director. The modified position, which will now oversee activities like band, debate and One Act Play in addition to sports, requires licensure that Jackson does not currently have, said Marisa Vette, communications coordinator for White Bear Lake Area School District 624. "This change isn't about something Bob Jackson did or did not do," said Vette, who added that Jackson can remain as a teacher and a coach in the district. Jackson will aid in the transition for the incoming activities director, Vette said, and that person likely will be in place by the 2010-11 school year.
