Monday night's Home Run Derby was fun, dramatic and an all-around a good change on what had become a tiresome midsummer tradition. Buzzer-beaters in baseball? Yes, please. Judging by social media as the event rolled toward its conclusion, this was the general consensus. That was confirmed Tuesday when an overnight rating of 4.9 came out, beating this winter's numbers for the NBA's Slam Dunk/three-point contest (4.4). Some fear change; but take a cue from Major League Baseball: It can be done, and done right. People will take notice.
