Chalkboard capers

The Mounds View School District is in its 24th year of staging its own variety show to raise scholarship funds for graduating seniors. Performers and crew are members of the Mounds View Education Association. This year's Hollywood-themed show will include choir and danceline numbers. Each year, 10 to 13 students win scholarships of $621 (Mounds View is School District 621). Over the years, the group has given away 320 scholarships adding up to more than $193,000.

When: 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with a 1 p.m. Saturday matinee.

Where: Irondale High School, 2425 Long Lake Road, New Brighton.

Cost: $5 at the door.
