Park of Cottage Grove stopped a two-point conversion try in overtime to hold on for a 40-39 football victory over South St. Paul, ranked No. 7 in Class 4A, on Friday.

Grant Glazier’s 1-yard touchdown run and the PAT gave the Wolfpack a 40-33 lead in the overtime. Cade Sexauer’s 4-yard TD got the Packers within one. Glazier ran for two TDs, passed for two and returned a fumble 90 yards for a score for the Wolfpack, which led 33-17 in the third quarter. Sexauer’s 1-yard TD run and Nathan Brandecker’s two-point conversion in fourth quarter tied the score 33-33.

Armstrong 51, Bloomington Jefferson 10: Senior free safety Mekhi Besseck returned back-to-back interceptions for touchdowns (95 and 31 yards) as the Falcons routed the Jaguars. Sophomore quarterback Jake Breitbach threw for three touchdowns and ran for two more as Armstrong rolled up 48 first-half points.

Brainerd 36, Becker 8: Charlie Geraets rushed for 247 yards and two TDs and Brady Anderson intercepted three passes to lead the Warriors past the host Bulldogs. The Warriors’ defense intercepted five passes and limited Becker to 68 yards rushing. The victory was the 375th for Brainerd coach Ron Stolski, who is in his 57th season.

Chisago Lakes 49, St. Francis 19: Henry Trost rushed for 245 yards and three touchdowns to fuel visiting Chisago Lakes’ victory.

SMB 21, St. Paul Central 20: Sophomore Jalen Suggs rushed for two touchdowns in the fourth quarter and sophomore Craig McDonald intercepted a pass in the final minute to help the Wolfpack (5-1) hold off the host Minutemen (1-5). St. Paul Central led 20-6 going into the fourth quarter. Suggs’ 10-yard TD run and two-point conversion run pulled the Wolfpack within 20-14. The Wolfpack blocked a Central punt and recovered it at the Minuteman 25-yard line to set up the go-ahead touchdown. Suggs’ 6-yard TD run with 4:03 remaining tied the score and Theo Crosby’s PAT gave the Wolfpack the lead. Suggs also scored on a 49-yard TD run in the first half to pull the Wolfpack within 13-6.

Delano 34, Annandale 20: Mike Shoultz ran for a TD and threw two TDs in the first quarter as the host Tigers opened a 20-0 lead and went on to hand the Cardinals, ranked No. 4 in Class 3A, their first loss of the season. Caden Link, who rushed for 92 yards, ran for two TDs in the third quarter to help the Tigers open a 34-13 lead.

Streaks ended: Kasson-Mantorville defeated Rochester Lourdes, ranked No. 2 in Class 3A, 34-14 to end the Eagles’ 18-game winning streak. The streak was tied (with Elk River, which also lost on Friday) for the second-longest current winning streak in the state. ... Kimball ended a 42-game losing streak (the third-longest active streak in the streak) with a 31-16 victory over Upsala/Swanville.
