Celtics make Super Bowl matinée a tradition

The Wild played at Vancouver on Super Bowl Sunday. If that seemed weird, it's because it was: It's the first time the Wild has ever played on the same day as the Super Bowl.

Just about everything gets out of the way of the NFL's showcase event. But at least one organization tries to piggyback on Super Sunday: The Boston Celtics almost always have a day game before the big game.

"Super Bowl Sunday games in particular give fans a good primer while they're waiting for kickoff," Celtics President Rich Gotham told ESPN. "We think it's a great doubleheader for fans and a nice tradition."

GRAY GHOST Remember when the Patriots' Jonas Gray ran for 201 yards and four TDs? He was inactive for the Super Bowl, the fourth deactivation since that game.
