Throwback holidays

Reminisce about simpler times — before smartphones, holiday sales and even television —with themed events at the Minnesota Historical Society's various locations. "A Victorian Christmas" at the Alexander Ramsey House exposes the senses of guests to the smells, sights and sounds of Christmas in 1875 through a guided tour, homemade cookies and music. Holiday Saturdays at the Minnesota History Center feature StoryWalks and art activities, while the James J. Hill House hosts a program on what Christmas was like during World War II. With programs on everything from festive themed happy hours to plays set in Mill City Museum's Flour Tower elevator ride, there is seasonal entertainment for families and friends of all ages.
