A masked robber with a long gun made short work of a bank in western Wisconsin and took a long drive to Grand Forks, N.D., where he was arrested, authorities said.
The robbery of the Citizens State Bank, 140 S. Main St. in the village of Woodville, occurred about 10 a.m. Thursday, according to the St. Croix Sheriff's Office.
The suspect, a 19-year-old man, pointed his gun at the teller and was given an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing in an older silver station wagon, the Sheriff's Office said.
The teen had on a black ski mask, camouflage baseball hat, black hooded sweatshirt with the hood worn over the cap, and a reflective vest or T-shirt, according to Police Chief Lori Hetfeld.
Acting on a request from authorities in Wisconsin, police officers and detectives in Grand Forks located the suspect at the Rodeway Inn about 10:15 p.m. Saturday. He was arrested without incident and awaits charges.
"In addition to the arrest, we have also recovered the vehicle," the St. Croix Sheriff's Office said in a statement Sunday. "Thank you to those that kept an eye out, and gave us some good tips on this case."
