• A.C. Ford, convicted for his involvement in the 1992 murder of Minneapolis police officer Jerry Haaf. Kushner was one of his attorneys.
• Family of Gregory Stampley, who died in 1994 in Stillwater prison. Alleging neglect, attorneys Kushner and Larry Leventhal gained a $165,000 settlement.
• Protesters arrested in 1998 and 1999 who attempted to block construction of a new route for Hwy. 55, saying it would disrupt an area sacred to American Indians.
