Carlton County prosecutors charge 4 in death of Floodwood woman

CARLTON, Minn. - Carlton County prosecutors have charged two people with killing a woman for her car and cell phone and accuse two others of trying to help hide the murder.

Twenty-five-year-old Cristyna Watson had been missing for nearly a month before her body was found in a swampy wooded area near Cloquet on Oct. 4.

Twenty-two-year-old Michael Siewert and a 17-year-old Duluth boy are charged with intentional second-degree murder. Twenty-four-year-old Alyssa Peterson and 56-year-old Clifford Thompson, both of Cloquet, are charged with aiding an offender. They're accused of helping cover up the crime.

The Duluth News Tribune ( http://tinyurl.com/9zs2jjm) reports court documents say the teen told investigators he saw Siewert strike Watson in the head with a hammer and then helped Siewert kill her by strangling her.
