This week's car events

Car show weather is back and this weekend's car events are listed here. Regular cruise-ins, including some starting tomorrow or next week, are in "Auto Scene" elsewhere in this section.

Saturday

Pontiac Dyno Challenge & Car Show, Hi-Tech Motorsports, 16754 Hwy. 10, Elk River, 10 am – 4 pm (spectators free; 763-486-3079, hrustang@yahoo.com). Pontiac/Oakland/GMC-only show charges $7 per vehicle and $50 for three dynamometer "pulls;" music, prizes, food.

Sedan Deliveries Club Mystery Run, Unique Body & Paint, Blaine, cars depart 10 am – noon ($5 per vehicle; 612-309-7745, 763-753-4393). Vehicle safety inspections, prizes; follow clues to stops and a restaurant.

Hot Rod Classic Car Show, Hideaway Speedway, Isanti, 5-10 pm ($4, $1 ages 5-10, $10 full car; racegirl396@yahoo.com, www.northstarracers.com). Trophies, concessions, 1/4-scale radio-control stock car racing.

Sunday

Spring Extravaganza Car Show & Swap Meet, State Fairgrounds ($5, ages 12 & under free; 651-770-8096, 651-226-5652). Area Buick Club's large annual show charges $15 for show vehicles (includes driver/passenger), $20 for swap spaces.

Auto Fair, Maplewood Imports, 10 am – 2 pm (spectators free; 651-483-2681). Mercedes-Benzes, Porsches, Audis, "exotic" cars are displayed, raising funds for Children's Cancer Research Fund.
